Abstract • Colonoscopy is considered a crucial investigating tool in different colorectal diseases as it provides tissue diagnosis by taking a biopsy and allows therapeutic intervention as polypectomy of adenomatous polyps. •In this study 400 patients suffering from chronic diarrhea and bleeding per rectum they were 266 male (66.5%) and 134 female (33.5%) there age rang from 3 – 69 years. • Inflammatory and ulcerative colonic lesions were detected in (35%) near the ratio of colorectal polyps (33.5%) in our study. • Colonoscopy is not sensitive test in detection of Inflammatory and ulcerative colonic lesions while it’s highly sensitive in detection of benign polyps. • Inflammatory polyps are the commonest colorectal polyps as they were detected in (35.3%) of all cases with polyps. • Schistosomal colonic polyposis were not the commonest colorectal polyps as they were detected in (25.4%) of all cases with polyps. • There is a relative decrease of the number of Schistosomal colonic polyposis that may be due to the effectiveness and the widespread use of antischistosomal therapy. |
