Abstract

The term QT interval has been introduced by Einthoven and the first measurement has been reported in Burchells review. (Burchell et al., 1983).
Recently, there has been an interest in the QT interval. This electrocardiographic interval has long fascinated investigators, and in the last two decades lengthening in the QT interval has been felt to be associated with electrical instability and sudden cardiac death. (Somberg et al, 1985) Q-T dispersion is important as a predictor of cardiac events (e.g. Sudden death and ventricular tachyarrhythmia), degree of coronary artery disease and left ventricle ejection fraction in coronary artery disease patients. (Sredniawa et al., 1997 & Walter et al., 2000).
Objectives:The present work was intended to find any relationship between QTd , longest QT interval , shortest QT interval and the site of coronary artery lesion.
Patients & methods:
This work included 60 patients with coronary angiographic evidence of single vessel disease & 40 normal coronaries.
