Abstract
This inverstigation was conducted at the experimental farm of mallawy agriculture research station during 1993 and 1994seasons .the main objective of this study was to evaluate the affecincy of some chemical defoliants on removing the plants leaves ,inhancing bool maturation ,yield and its components,some lint and seed characters and some quality properities .the chemicals used were dropp , ethrel and calcium super phosphate.these chemicals were used with three levels of concentrations which were as follows :5,10,and 15g./feddan for dropp,100,250,and 500m1/feddan for ethrel and 10,20and 30kg/feddan for calcium super phosphate,beside the control treatment .also,these defoliants treatments were applied at two dates of application,the first was at 20%boll opening while the second was al 40%boll opening .the Egyptian cotton variety G.83 was used in this study.
