Abstract The modified gutta-percha points were evaluated as regarding the amount of leaching of calcium from calcium hydroxide plus points and chlorhexidine from chlorhexidine active points. The percentage of weight loss of modified gutta-percha points was determined and compared to the conventional gutta-percha points. The apical sealing ability of the modified gutta-percha points was also studied and compared to the conventional gutta-percha points. This study consisted of two parts; The first part was designed for studying the amount of leaching of calcium from calcium hydroxide plus points and chlorhexidine from chlorhexidine active points. The percentage of weight loss of modified gutta-percha points was also studied and compared to conventional gutta-percha points after immersion of the samples in normal saline solution and ringers solution for one day, one week and one month. |
