5.5 Conclusion
• The total ED cross section has been calculated for 160 and 325 with
different targets at relativistic energies. The calculations agree quantitatively
with the experimental data in the case of 325 as a projectile.
• The ED cross section is enhanced both by the charge of the target
and the energy of the projectile.
• The ED mainly results in production of fragments with charge 1 or
2 units lower than the original nucleus.
