Abstract

Trachznotus ovaths (Linnaeus 1758) generally belongs to family Darangzclae under genus Trczchznotus Family Cararigiclac is aconomically important around the Mediterranean Sea as they are a good source of protein Present investigation was applied using six different directions as follow 1- Morphological and biochemical identification of the species .using isoelectric focusing technique for soluble protein in muscles 2- Reproductive biological studies for identification of maturity rages, length at first sexual maturity, gonadosomatic index, egg tiameter, fecundity and hepatosomatic index 3- Histological and ultrastructural studies for gonads and their Reasonal variations.4- Histological and histochemical studies for pituitary glandand their seasonal varations 5- Varation of total protein and amino acids content in gonads and muscles of both sexes in relation to different maturity stages 6- Variation of total lipid and fatty acids content in gonads, muscles and liver of both sexes in relation to different matunty stages By using isoelectnc focusing technique, the eye lens and muscle able protein showed sexual dimorphism Each tissue in both male female differed in their pattern of percentage area, but they r ealed the presence of species specific bands by having the same
helectric point General pattern of gonadal development in both sexes was
added into six maturity stages, which represented as follows mature, maturing, nearly ripe, ripe, spawning and spent stages.
