Abstract This dissertation aimed to investigate the variations of biochemical parameters in serum , liver and muscles of wild qual (coturnix japonica)as compared with the domestic one , subjected to experimental conditions(starvation/ dehydration and refeeding) and to see whether the bird recovers to its normal condition by refeeding after 48hr.of complete starvation. sixty three healthy birds of each wild and domestic quails (total 126 birds) weighed about 100-160g were used in these investigations. The quails in each type were randomly divided in to 9 groups (7 in each) the first group act as acontrol, from the second to fifth group were used for the first experiment, where they were subjected to starvation and dehydration for 24,48,72&96 hours, respectively. The other, respectively after 48hr. starvation (second experiment). this study deals with some haematological parameters, some biochemical constituents in the serum . glycogen concentration of both liver and muscles and some enzyme activities in the liver. The results obtained could be summarized as follows. |
