Abstract The present study deals with the effect of both castration and stilbestrol dipropionate (SDP) on growth rate and efficiency of utilization in lambs. The materials used in the present work comprise 40 yearling lambs divided into 4 groups. The first group is of castrated lambs weekly injected by 20 mg of still estrol dipropionate (SDP). The second group is castrated only and the third group is castrated and injected by the same dose as the first group. The fourth group is of intact lambs and serves as a control group. The results obtained show that the lambs in the second and fourth groups are highly efficient than those in the first and third groups in converting feeds to body gain. |
