Abstract The present work aims to study the effect of certain dietary constituents on the biology of the silk worm bombyx mori l., silk production and its technological properties. The results obtained show that soybean and ascorbic acid prove to have a slight effect on the durations of the larval and pupal stages. The presence of 0.5g of soybean or 90.0mg of ascorbic acid in the diet gives the highest number of emerged moths, the maximum longevities, the heaviest weight of moths of both sexes and the highest number of deposited eggs. |
