Abstract
The present work aims to study the fertility status of cultivated and virgin soils which can be put under cultivation in Siwa Oasis. The study also includes the evaluation of water quality since it is considered one of the limiting factors for expansion with respect to salt concentration and boron content for most springs in this area. Siwa depression is about 980 square kilometers and lies in far west of Egypt on the libyan border, only 1/6 of which is now under cultivation while the rest of it contains saline patches, rocky formation and salt lakes.
