Abstract
Soft clay deposits have been formed along the Egyptian Mediterranean coast over the years as a result of the Nile sedimentations. Soft clay soil is considered one of types of soil which offer problems in Egypt. So it is suggested to improve the soil properties by several techniques such as preloading, sand columns and lime columns. The main objective of this thesis is to determine the ultimate stress of soft clay soil using soft clay-lime columns. A laboratory model is designed to fulfill the aim of the thesis
