Abstract
The present study is carried out to investigate the physical and chemical changes of the syconium during the growth stage and development in order to find out its relation to the latex produced and the changes on the specific activity of the fcrude ficin enzyme in the latex of syconium at various stages of development-ient with the aim of determining the optimum specific activity of the ficin enzyme. The fig plant produces its syconium throughout the season (May-August).
