Abstract Sugars Detected In The Cotton Leaves Are Stimulating To The Larvae Of The Cotton Leafworm Spodoptera Littoralis Boisd. The Stimulating Effectiveness Of Amino Acids Reveals That Proline Consistently Evokes The Feeding Response Of The Larvae. Alanine And Glutamic Acid Also Prove To Be Stimulating While Methionine Is The Least Stimulating. The Rejection Thresholds Of The Larvae To Electrolytes Show A Higher Stimulating Effectiveness For Either Acids Or Hydroxides Than For Natural Inorganic Salts. The Stimulating Efficiency Of These Compounds Show That The Cations In A Uniform Anion Combination Stimulated In An Order Which Is Mostly Correlated To Their Ionic Mobilities. |
