Abstract

Some studies on the superconductors and their applications in active-electronic component
In this thesis, mathematical algorithms have been developed to estimate and model the main characteristic parameters of a superconductor-insulator – superconductor (SIS) Josephson tunnel junction. The highly non-linear current-voltage characteristic of SIS tunneling device which exhibits Josephson tunneling is considered. The evolution of voltage across the junction has been also depicted. The junction impedance of superconducting tunnel element (Josephson element), which is of importance in matching the junction to the signal source, is studied. An approximate analytical technique for the signal source, is studied. An approximate analytical technique for calculating the Josephson junction impedance based on Fourier analysis and an equivalent ciruit model for the junction is presented. The detailed behavior of junction equivalent ciruit model. The influence of the circuit parameters and the junction impedance on its current-voltage characteristic are demonstated. The obtained results of computer simulation are presented in analytical and graphical forms.
The computer simulation results are verified by comparison with already published one and the comparison shows a good agreement. General algorithm flow charts of the computer program which has been used for optimum design of Josephson device is also given.
