Abstract The aim of the present work is to evaluate the influence of various soil types and available soil moisture depletion levels in root zone on the evapotranspiration and water economy of sugar beet, onion and field beans. Results obtained reveal that the daily evapotranspiration rate of certain crop is greatly affected by soil type more than by ASMD levels. The effect of soil type on decreasing evapotranspiration can be arranged in the order: clay> calcareous sandy loam> sandy soil. The C and K factors using Eaglman and Blaney and Criddle formulae are greatly dependent on crop, soil type and ASMD levels in the root zone and stage of growth. |
