The thesis presents an experimental study of the third and fourth spectrum of palladium in the 549-1010 A 0 wavelength region. The spectrograms were carried out using old plates photographed using 6.65 m normal incidence vacuum spectrograph of Zeeman Laboratory, Amsterdam university, Amsterdam the Netherlands, these plates were recorded on Kodak SWR plates and they have been measured with ZeisssAbbe manual comparator of the physics department of the National Research center Dokki, Cairo, Egypt, we transform distances into wave length list using Mosfit computer program. Based on this new measurements we studied the 4d8 - 4d7 5s and 4d7 5p of Pd III, we confirmed the old analysis by Shenstone in 1963 and that of Barakat in 1985. Also we studied the three lowest configurations 4d7, 4d6 5s and 4d6 5p of Pd IV. Energy levels calculations and transition probabilities were carried out using Cowan Code. It shows excellent agreement with the old calculations by Shenstone in 1963 and Barakat et al. in 1985. We could classify 34 new lines belonging to Pd III and 38 new lines belonging to Pd IV spectrum. Least squares - fitted (LSF) and Hartree - Fock (HF) parameter values for the studied configuration are given as well as their variation through the Tc I and Ru I isoelectronic sequences.
