Abstract

The aim of this study is to determine the chemical composition and the effect of including varying levels of poultry or animal wastes in sheep rations on nutrients digestibility, nitrogen balance and the possible adaptation of the experimental diets as the experimental period prolonged. The results obtained for nutrients digestibility are discussed in relation to differences in food intakes, ash and silica contents along with quality of both CP And CF of the different waste materials. The results concerning rumen liquor pH, NH3 and VFA’s taken at different intervals are discussed in relation to food and water intake along with possible differences in protein degradability. It was concluded that animal and poultry wastes are potential sources of nutrients for ruminants.
