Abstract
This study is carried out to determine the chemical composition and nutritive value of leaf protein concentrate and the sun dried pulp both prepared from berseem (trifolium alexandria). Three berseem cuts are used for extraction and preparation of lpc for use by preruminants. The reaidual pulp from every cut is prepared for uSe by ruminants. Chemical composition of both lpc, pulp and intact plant of every cut is determined. A nutritive evaluation of the pulp is carried out using digestion and n-balance trials with mature sheep - the leaf protein concentrate is evaluated as a Protein source in milk replacers for suckling lambs compared with other conventional protein sources.
