Abstract The x-ray structure of phenylglyoxal bisbenzoydrazone, figure 2.5, shows that the two aroylhydrazone arms namely the aldehyde arm and the pheni arm are on the same sides of the c8-c9bond this allows for the formation of intramolecular hydrogen bond N2 H4n of grph set R6 forming lmost plnr six membered ring on the other hnd the ketomine O2 in the pheny1 rm of one moleculr unit is connected to the H1n proton of the ldehyde arm of the neighboring moleculr unit by strong O2 H1N intermoleeculr hydrogen bond of grph set C3 forming n infinite ldder shpe chin long the a-axis. |
