Abstract

The present study was carried out at Department of Animal production. Faculty of Agriculture .Kafr EL-Shelkh and Mehallet Mousa, Buffalo Experimental station located in the northern part of Delta, belonging to Animal production Reasrch Institute, Agriculture Research center, Ministry of Agriculture, during the period (from October, 1993 to June, 1994). The objective of this study was to investigate the effect of the most important physiological and environmental factors such as age, weight, stage and number
of lactation and season of the year, that considered to have direct or indirect effect on some blood constituents as well as on milk yield and its composition. Thirty lactating buffaloes were selected immediately after calving and were divided into ”4” groups throught the age [(3-4); (5-6); (7-8) and (9-12) years old ] , divided into ”5” groups through the weight [ (350-399); (400- 440); (450-499) : (500-549) and (550-599) kg. ] , divided into ” 7” groups throught the stage of lactation [ from first to seventh month of lactation , respectively ] divided into ” 5” groups through number of lactation [ from 1 st to 5th lactation, respectively ] and divided into”3” groups during season of the year [ a~ltumnw; inter and spring season]. Blood and milk samples were collected after parturation then at monthly intervals till seventh month of lactation of the anirnlas.Blood samples were analysed for sreum Total proteins , albumin; globulin ; total lipids;cholesterol; calcium phosphorus; magnesium and blood haemoglobin. Milk samples were analysed for milk fat; protein, lactose; calcium : phosphonis and magnesium. Milk yield was monthly recorded of the animal.
