Abstract The aim of the present study was to evaluate the correlation between adenosine deaminase activity and clinical activity in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus . Also, the pattern of the two ADA isoenzymes ,ADA1 and ADA2, are analyzed in healthy controls and SLE patients to determine the source of increased ADA activity . Furthermore , the study aimed to correlate between activity of ADA and its isoenzymes, and the other diagnostic parameters of SLE patients such as erythrocytes sedimentation rate, C3-complement component, antinuclear antibodies, anti-double stranded DNA, and the red and white blood cells count. |
