Abstract

The present study depends heavily on the concept of the speech act which comes from the work of the Beitish philosopher J.L Ausein. A speech act is an act performed in speech. The cocept was isolated and discussed intensively by Austin in how to do things with words and later developed by Searle(1969). the theory of speech acts aims to do justice to the fact that even though words (phrases, sentences) encode information, people do mor things with words than convey information, and that when people do convey information, they often convey more than their words encode.
