Abstract This investigation was carried out during the period from (988-1994 In the farm and laboratories of the Genetic Department, Faculty of agricuIture, Ain Shams University. The objective of this study were: I – To assess the biochemical genetic identification and charactrization of faba bean cultivars 2— To studs’ salt tolerance for the faba beau cultivars in screen house under different salinity levels comparing with the control according to thier morphological measurments. 3— To develop some biochemical genetic markers as SDS-PAGE electrophoresis and some sozymes (esterase, peroxidase, LAP, and GOT) to detect the characteristic protein hands (55(3) associated with salinity treatments. 4— To detect salt- moterance faba bean genotypes by molecular markers (RAPDs) 5— To studx the initiation and induction of callus cultures of faha bean tissues [hr faba bean cultivars and of callus growth under different salinity levels and determination of proline content in the callus tissues associated with salinity treatment. The principal finding of this study were: 1- Cultivars Identification : — Discrimination and identification of 15 faha bean cultivars waS Feasible through (he biochemical uerietic markeus, SDS—PAGK \sas technique (hr the lifierentiation between (‘aba bean cultivars sierise. peroxidase and (aYl’ i5c)7.\ mes ~~ere quite Insensitive to the cultivars the results also the importance I AP and (PC markers. |
