Abstract Diabetes mellitus is one of the most common medical problems allover the world. It affects about 7% of the total population. The total expenditure attributable to DM in USA according to the Center for Disease Control Prevemion is about 98 billion dollars per year. The late complications of DM are considered as the fourth cause of death (American Diabetes Association 1998).DM affects the blood vessels allover the body both large sized ’’maeroangiopathy’’ causing cerebrovascular accidents and ischaemic heart disease, and small sized ”microangiopathy” causing diabetic retinopathy, nephropath) and neuropath). Peripheral neuropath) is one of the most common major complications of DM. It affects about 50°o of diabetic patient after 25-30 years from the onset of DM.
