Abstract Hypertension, angina and cardiac dysarrhythmia are common diseases of great importance. Hypertension affect above 30% of total population of the Egypt with its major impact on those over age 50.Appropriate treatment of these cardiovascular disorders is strongly recommended especially in elderly patients to avoid major complication, which may occur, with great attention to the metabolic effects of such treatment.The ideal goal for the treatment of patients with heart diseases is to reach the state of normal limit of blood pressure and correction of all cardiac metabolic errors using most suitable drugs for such disease, with, minimal deleterious action on the patient healthy profile.This work was designed to compare the metabolic effects of nifedipine and isradipine on some metabolic parameters concerning blood glucose level,lipid profile, serum liver enzymes, renal hnction tests and some blood changes using different route of administration at different time period. |
