Abstract
Breast reduction is a good example of interface between aesthetic and reconstructive plastic surgery. With improved understanding of breast anatomy and improved equipment and technology, the focus gradually shifted from simply reducing breast size with survival of nipple areola complex to improving the resultant shape, stability of the results, scars and functional result. A good breast reduction should achieve adequate reduction of the breast mass, preserving adequate breast contour,effective breast tissue support? preserving nipple-areola complex and their sensory supply, accepted post-operative scars and also allows simple secondary revision if needed in the future.The aim of this study is to establish a prospective randomized comparative study between superior versus inferior pedicled reduction mammoplasty.
