Abstract -The discovery of the blood groups established the presence of 4 blood groups depending on the presence of certain antigens on the red cells. These groups are A, B ,AB and 00 These antigens are not only present on the red cells but also occur in water soluble forms in tissue fluids, serum and saliva. There is another substance called (H) antigen present in the red cells and saliva and it can transform to antigens A,B &: AB and the blood group 0 is free of genes that can transform (H) substance to the corresponding antigen so it contains a big amount of this substance. The human beings are divided into secretors and non secretors. Secretors are individuals who secrete these substannces in saliva and non-secretors are those who do not secrete these substances in saliva. -96- So carriers of group A secrete A antigen and (H),group”B” secrete B antigen and (H), group AB secrete A,B and H and group (0) secrete a big amount of (H) substance. This study shows the secretor state in recurrent urinary tract infection in women and if there is a special group with a more susceptibility to the disease. It is found that a high percentll(,sof thene pn’bLerrt a are non-secretors in saliva and there is a high percentage of blood groups ”B” and ”AB” 0 |
