Abstract

The scope of work in this thesis is a geostatistical evaluation as well as the design of some mine parameters of El-Gedida iron ore deposit and Abu-Tartur phosphate ore deposit, Western Desert, Egypt. Abrief review had been done regarding locations, ore grade, production rates ... etc. in the two areas.
Semi-variograms were constructed in four directions throughout the two deposits. The range of influence (a) and variance (c) for these variograms are estimated as indices for geostatistical evaluation. Iso-chemical maps were made to help in the construction of such semi-variograms.
The method known as the volume-variance relationship was used to predict grade fluctuations of Fe%, Sio2 %, Mn%, S%, and Cl% to determine the lengtgh of stoping faces for different production periods at El-Gedida mine.
Finally, the kriged estimates of blocks were used to formulate two mathematical models: one for El-Gedida iron ore deposit which may be used to statisfy the Blast Furnaces requirements, and the other for Abu-Tartur phosphate ore deposit to be applied to satisfy the critical limit of marketing requirements.
