Abstract
Two field experiments were carried mt during two successive seasons of 1997 and 1998 . The first was done in the Experimental Farm of Tanta Fac. Agric., Tanta Univ., to study the effect of foliar fertilization with either Nofatren at the rates of 1.65 , 3.30 and 6.60 ml/L . and Goemar at rates of 1.25 , 2.50 and 5.00 inl/L or urea at rates of 1 , 2 and 3 g. /L on vegetative growth, oil productivity and chemical composition of Cynzbopogon citratus plants . The second one was conducted in a private nursery at Tanta city to study the effect of different levels of nitrogen fertiliztion at the rates of 0 , 100, 200 and 300 g . /plant on the vegetative growth , essential oil percentage , chemical composition and determining the suitable time for volatile oil extraction from Melalezlca ericifolia leaves.
