Abstract

The present study was carried out in three localities at Kafr El-Sheikh Governorate, the Experimental Farm of the Faculty of Agriculture, Kafr El-Sheikh, Tanta University, Sedi-Salem and Biela regions to study the following objectives during two successive seasons 2000 and 200 1. 1. Studying the population density of the egg-masses of the cotton leaf worm and population fluctuation of cotton leafworm male moths captured by pheromone baited water trap. 2. Studying infestation rate and population density of pink boll worm in cotton fields. 3. Studying infestation rate and population density of spiny bollworm in cotton fields. 4. Studying population density of both the pink boll worm and spiny boll worm in Sedi-Salim during season 2000- 2001. 5. studying population density of both pink bollworm and spiny bollworms in Biela during season 20001200 1. 6. Evaluation of population fluctuation of the male moths of the two bollworms by using sex pheromone trap at Kafr El-Sheikh region during season 200 1. 7. Studying the fate of pink boll worm in hibernation. 8. Studying the population densities of the most common predaceous insects in cotton fields. 9. Surveying and estimating the most important insect pests that infest common reed plants.
