Abstract Skin cancer is the most curable cancer with proper therapy, fortunately due to its early presentation and favourable biology. The vast majority of basal cell carcinomas and squamous cell carcinomas are curable with surgical excision, curettage and desiccation, radiation therapy, cryosurgery, chemosurgery or laser surgery. However, these lesions should not be regarded too lightly, since they are capable of producing significant morbidity and occasional mortality if they are long neglected or improperly treated. The mode of therapy should be tailored to the characteristics of the particular patient and lesion, when a particularly aggressive tumor is encountered. In this work, the relative frequency incidence were 3.03% of all cases of different malignancies in the NEMROCK. The incidence rate rises annually perhaps compounded by the depletion of the ozone layer, which prevent much of the carcinogenic radiation in ultraviolet light (UVL)from reaching the earth. The age incidence was found to have a maximum peak incidence in the sixth decade of life. Males were affected more than females with either basal cell or squamous cell carcinomas with a ratio of 1.8:1. The incidence was higher in rural than in urban cities and also higher in people leading outdoor occupations with exposure to the carcinogenic rays of the sun. |
