Abstract In the persent study a total of 120 clinical isolate displaying resistance at least against penicillin G were obtained different sources and subjected to microscopical examination and general biochemical tests these isolates were found to be ;thirteen staphylococcus aureus ,six staphylococcus epidermindes two achomabacter spp five enterobacter spp twenty six Escherichia codia twenty five Klebsiella spp twelve proteus spp ,thirty one pseudomonas spp one serratia spp and one flavimamos oryzihabitans thirty multiresistant gram negative stains belonging to different species were selected for further identification using Api 20E kits these clinical isolates were tested for sensitivity to the following third and fourth generation cephalosporins cefoperazone ,cefotaxime ,ceftazidime ,ceftraixone ,cefepime and cefpirome .the suscepetibilty tsting was conducted using both dilution agar dilution and disc agar dilution and disc agar diffustion methods .the data were analyzed for MIC average ,MIC 90,MIC range and finally to seneitivity S-I-Rpattern .the results obiainted in the three methods were generally in harmony with the few exceptions .the results showed that almost all the islotes displayed multiresistance some of the gran negative islotes were even resistant to up to nineteen antibiotics .the percentage of gran negative islolates resistant to the frist second and third generation cephalosporins were 60,46 and 26 respectively .moreover the multidrug resistance pattern revealed coresistance to a number of antibiotics B-lactans ,aminoglycosides tetracyclines. |
