Abstract
Studies reported herein were mainly designed to investigate the response of growing turkey poults to hyper- and hypovitaminosis A,D and E in relation to each other. Feeding trials cornrnanced in December, 1991 in the Turkey Research Farrn at Mehalet Mousa, Kafer El-Shelkh, belonging to the Institute of Amma1 Porduction, Muustry of Agriculture and was terminated in May 1992. Laboratory studies were performed in Department of Poultrj Production, Kafer El-Shelkh Faculty of Agriculture, Tanta University. One thousand, unsexed one-day-old mte Holland turkey poults were wing-banded for identification purposes and maintained in floor pens under recommended enviromental and sanitarian conditions. Through the first two weeks of age chicks were fed a standard white corn-soybean meal starter ration containing 2809.6 MEkg and 27.7 crude protein and supplemented with the required vitamins as recommended by NRC (1984).During the next two weeks chicks were given the same ration but without supplements of the fat soluble vitamins A,D and E (depletion period). On day 28 birds were weighed and the 396 poults (198 males and 198 females) closest to the mean were alloted at random into nine treatment zw oups with separated floor pens of 44 birds each (22 male and 22 female)
