Abstract Objective: To determine the role of intravaginal slingoplasty in management of posthysterctomy vault prolapse or uterine prolapse associated with vault prolapse, aiming to relief of symptoms, restablishment of function. Without discomfort and preserve fertility during childbearing period. Methed: This study included thirty patient suffering form vault prolapse, The idea of the procedure is to insert an 8 mm polypropylene tape between the perineum and the vaginal vault. The resulting artificial neoligament reinforces the atrophied uterosacral]~atnent Results: thirty patients with vault prolapse were treated by intravaginal sllngoplasty. Eight patients with posthysterectomy vault prolapse and twenty two patients with uterine prolapse associated with vault prolapse. Twenty four patients had anterior vaginal wall defect and anterior repair was done with insertion of tension free vaginal mesh (TVM) only one case of Twenty fours cases had recurrence of anterior vagina! wall relaxation. One case out of eight patients with vault prolapse recurrence occurred, Alsoonecase out of twenty two patients recurrence occurred. Pregnancy has occurred in two cases from the twenty two patients with uterine prolapse, Conclusion: this surgery is suitable for the young low parous women and is considered a simple and safe technique for the treatment of vault prolapse or uterine pro lapse in young women . |
