Abstract
Much effort has been expended to restore enough amount of water for various uses by means of well controlled irrigation distributed system,studying the water duty and methods of measuring the discharge in canals becomes of great importance to give the canals the right amount of water.
Measurement of discharge in the canals can be carried out either by calibration of the hand regulators or by standing wave weirs . Standing wave weirs have been traditionally one of the best irrigation devices to measure and regulate irrigation water.
