Abstract Breast cancer is the most frequent malignancy in females. It affects nearly one over twelve women among the general population in western countries. Sixty patients with previously treated breast cancer were included in this study. Routine follow up schedule was done for all these patients for early detection of disease recurrence. According to the site of distant metastases, they were grouped into patients with skeletal metastases, intra-thoracic metastases, pelvi-abdominal metastases, cerebral metastases and contra-lateral breast metastases. For skeletal metastases, Isotope bone scan is a sensitive tool for detecting bone metastases. It has the advantage of availability, relatively low cost and ability to assess the whole skeleton in one procedure |
