Abstract

Generally normal concrete is ’suffered from bleeding and segregation during both casting process and vibration necessary for compaction especially in reinforced concrete sections with dense reinforcement ratios. So on the other hand self-compacted concrete (SCC) has good properties compared to ordinary Portland cement concrete, because it is compacted under its own weight. Self-compacted concrete is a new generation of special concrete, where no inner or outer vibration is necessary for \ compaction.
The main objective of this research is to study the durability of self-compacted concrete in comparison with ordinary Portland cement concrete under exposure to both fire and corrosion.

For fresh properties of self-compacted concrete, slump flow test, J-ring test and V-funnel test, were used. For fresh ordinary Portland cement concrete, slump test and compaction factor test, were used.
Three different mixes of self-compacted concrete were used in this research. In the first mix we used silica fume as a partial replacement of cement content, in the second mix we used fly ash as a partial replacement of cement content and in the third mix we used an mix of silica fume and fly ash as a partial replacement of cement content.
