Abstract Doppler sonography is a useful non invasive method which provides good information about blood flow that supplements the information gained by routine sonography. Doppler sonography can assess the degree of hepatic fibrosis. As with progression of the stage of fibrosis that lead to decrease in PVV, increase in PV congestive index, HA RI, HA PI and increase in the frequencyof non triphasic wave of hepatic veins. Doppler sonography was less satisfactory in evaluation of grade of inflammation on chronic hepatitis C patients, and evaluation of grade of liver cirrhosis according ro Child Pugh classification. Although histological will remain the gold standard for diagnosis of grade of inflammation and stage of fibrosis in chronic liver disease, the present study indicate Doppler sonography is effective in determination of the degree of hepatic fibrosis, especially in clinical situation in which a liver biopsy clinically contrained or when repeated liver biopsies are required to evaluated the progression of chronic liver disease due to HCV during routine follow- up. |
