Abstract Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is one of the most common tumors nowadays where it is the 5th common tumor after (cancer breast, colon, prostate and lung). Ultrasound (US) and Color Doppler Ultrasound (CDUS) was used with wide availability to detect the characteristics of the lesion. Serum level of AFP was done for every patient in addition to liver function. The aim of the work is to detect if there was a relation between the lesion (HCC) studied by US and CDUS to the serum level of AFP. The study was conducted on 30 patients having 38 nodules. The study was done in US unit of Internal Medicine department at Kasr El- Aini hospital from December 2006 to Jul. 2007. All patients were subjected to history taking, clinical examination and lab. Testing including liver functions, and Alpha feto-protien were done. |
