Abstract

These last years, the world textile industry has been involved in the development of new regulations, decrees, private or public labels which objectives are to reduce its ecological impact on the environment or to preserve consumer’s health and safety. For foreigners producers exporting in Europe e.g., it is important to distinguish first the regulation aspects of the national law, unavoidable to be present in these countries and the voluntary character of private or European labels. These two conceptions correspond to the answer that the governments and the textile companies want to bring to the growing ecological feeling of consumers, the green products appearance, the need of scientific proof. In the textile production chain based on the principle that parameters should be tested as, and when they arise. The scope of the tests depends on the intended purpose, the particular properties of the test sample and the applicant’s individual production processes. It is only possible to accept the finished textile if all the individual components have been tested. A jacket, for example, would include the outer fabric, the lining, interlinings, shoulder pads, zip fastener, buttons etc. By working with materials previously accepted. The test results are passed on to the applicant in the form of an expert report. At this stage, this only refers to the goods tested. Oko- Tex standard lO() : is an international standard. Its aim is to iron out differences in the assessment of harmful substances relating to both the product and the production process.
