المستخلص Two hundred girls at 12 to 18 years of age were chosen using the random technique from some schools of Ismailia governorate, (100) from urban schools and (100) from rural schools. Approvals of the Faculty of taken before starting the work. Questionnaire forms were designed to collect data including socio-economic status, nutritional status, health status, anthropometric measurement and 24 hour recall of consumed food. Completed blood count (CBC) was estimated according to the method described by Dacie and Lewis (1998). All obtained data were statistically analyzed by SPSS statistical program (SPSS,1998) at the Faculty of home Economics, Minufiya University. The nutritive value of food was calculated by food analysis, computer program (Diet Analysis program, 1995).Results: prevalence of Anemia in Sample: there were 32% of urban females anemic (Hb<12g /dl) compared with 44% of rural females. While 685 of urban females were non anemic (Hb<12g/dI) compared with 56% of the rural females. |
