THE AIM is to assess the value of determining the ovarian volume by ultrasound and studying Doppler of ovarian vascularity in diagnosis of PCOD.

METHODS: 60 patients were included, 30 women with PCOD and The control group: 30 normal ovulating women. Transvaginal ultrasound and Doppler examination was performed.

RESULTS: in cases of PCOD (compared to the control group) there is significant increase in ovarian volume, significant decrease of ovarian RI, significant increase in ovarian PI, significant increase in ovarian stroma PI, significant increase of uterine artery PI and insignificant increase of uterine artery RI.

CONCLUSION: ovarian volume and vascularity is valuable in diagnosis of PCOD.
