Abstract
In the present study the seismological situation as well as some of the general characteristics of this seismic activity and its behavior with regard to the Aswan reservoir water level was investigated.The geological study of the area has indicated the presence of two sets of faults across the study areav striking in north south and east west direction and that the east west set includes the most active fault in the area {Kalabsha fault}and to which the famous earthquake of Nov.14,1981 is attributed.
