Abstract

this is prospective study aiming at testing the value of determination of spontaneous apponeous apoptotic index (SAL)and radiation inducted apoptotic (RIAI)as well as p53 ,bcl-2 and angiogenesis a predictor of treatment results in stage II and III carcinoma of the cervix uteri
patients &methods:
forty patients with squamours cell carcimoma of the cervix uteri stages II and III were treated with extermal bean radiotherapy (50gy/25f/5w),28patients continue radical radiotherapy(responded to extermal bean radiotherapy >50%)and 12 patients had werthiems operation after extermal bean ,apoptoic index .p53,bcl-2 and angiogenesis were dected twice (prior and 4 hours after 8gy /4f of extermal bean radiotherapy
results :
the different climical and biological prognostic factors were almost comparable .the mean SAI ,RIAI pretreatment angiogenic score (PAS)and during treatment angiogenic score (PAS) and during treatment angiogenic score (DTAS)were 0.7_+0.5%1.6_+1.2%,82.6_+42.1 mm2 respectively ,pretreatment p53 during treatment p53 pretreatment bcl-2 and during treatment bcl-2 were +ve in 48.7%.42.5% ,56.4%and 60% respectively .the 3 year DFS ,LRC abd OS were 86.9_+6.3% ,86.7_+6.3and 69.8_+7.6% respectively RIAI showed statistically significant relation with DES (P=0.2)However clinical stage tumor size and DTAS showed trend towords significance (p=0.8& p=0.9&p=0.7 respectively)
