Abstract
The aim of this was to compare between the egg-based cryopreservation medium(TYB)and the cryopreservation medium containing 6% glycerol using the whole dish freesing technique in order to optimize the post-thraw sperm parameters .Atotal of 30non-azoospernic patients with primary infertility were included were in this study they were selected from the patients attending the dermatology and andrology out patient clinic ,faculty of medicine , Minufiya university the andrology out patient clinic of kaser al-aini hospital –cairo university -and from the patients attending ICSL program at (Adam international clinic )in the period from april 2004 to January 2005semen samples were collected from each patients by masturbation and analyzed according to the WHO guidelines (1999)After washing and centrifugation of the semen sample 40 motile sperm were collected from each patient and divided equally into 4 dishes then cryopreserved using the whole dish freezing technique described by quintans et al (2000)
-group (a)the spen were frozen using spem cryopresevation containing 60%glycerol (sperm freeze ,ferti –pro,Belgium)and cooled to 4c before plunging into liquid nitrogen
- group (b)the sperm were using egg-yolk based cryopreservation medium(TYB,Irvin scientific ,santa ana ,CA,USA)containing heat-inactivated egg-yolk 20%and glycerol 12% and cooled to 4 c before plunging into liquid nitrogen .
