Abstract
Dermabrasion means removal of the epidermis and as much the superficial dermal layer as necessary and the preservation epidermal adenexa in sufficient quantity to allow for spontaneous with minimal or no scarrmg. It is usually done by means rapidly rotating abrasive tools such as wire brush and diamond fraise.
A new era has developed (AOCM) in the field of dermabrasion regarding the introduction of many pre and postoperative measures.
In 1985, a new technique was developed in Italy. It produces A12o3 crystals under a controlled pressure. It causes microtrauma on skin. The used microcrystals are reabsorbed through the aspiration system to a waste container. AOCM not only has the same indications same indications for traditional dermabrasion but also striae (strech marks) are successfully treated with it.
In this study, twenty five patients with different dermatological conditions were subjected to dermabrasion (Traditional & AOCM).
aim of this study is to evaluate the results produced by the procedures.
Ten patients were subjected to traditional dermabrasion . Five them were sears ,the other five were epidennal verrucous nevi.
