Abstract

Day-stay surgery has become an integral part of modem otolaryngology. Recent studies have documented the success rate and cost effectiveness of performing day-stay tympanic membrane repairs in adults.
These current study reviewed ninety patients of different ages underwent paper patch, tissue fat as a day-
stay procedure and permeatal myringoplasty. They were divided into three equal groups.
The results revealed the following;”
Promotion of healing of the tympanic membrane perforation by using tissue fat and permeatal temporalis fascia myringoplasty techniques had better results(80%&90%) than using paper patch (33.3%).
There is no statistically significant difference between using tissue fat and permeatal myringoplasty in the healing promotion of the tympanic membrane perforations.
No effect of age in healing of the tympanic membrane perforation in all techniques.
No effect of site of the perforation on healing in all techniques
