Abstract Perioperative myocardial infarction is still a common complication of CABG surgery. It occurs in 16 % of the studied patients. Better selection of patients and better preoperative management of risk factors I improve the results of surgery. The extent of coronary artery disease and left ventricular dysfunction are among the important causes of PMI and operative mortality. In the present work PMI was higher in patients with decreased ejection fraction. Diabete s,hypertesion, old age ,smnoking are no more predictor of PM! Intraoperative variables as prolonged duration of operaflon, increased ischernic time and total perfusion time are important causes of PM[. ECG is the most reliable and commonly used method for detection of MI; however its usefulness in the postoperative setting is limited. In the current study sensitivity was 88%. Among cardiac enzymes ,CK-MB is a suitable predictor of PM!. In this study “sensitivity was 96%”.The duration of elevation rather than peak level should be considered. |
