Abstract Chest injuries due to both blunt or penetrating trauma often result in severe derangements that may lead to prolonged illness or even to death. Fourty patients admitted to the-emergency depertment of Menoufiya Main University Hospital, suffering from chest trauma were studied to identify the variables affecting outcome of patients with chest injuries. Every case in this study was subjected to the following: 1) Full history and meticulous clinical examination that include, age, sex, echanism of injury, time of admission, G.C.S., full chest clinical examination spection, palpation, percussion and auscultation and general examination of the body. ii) Investigations :- routine investigations, E.C.G, plain x-ray of the chest, thers when needed as blood gases, ultrasonography. iii) Recording of the different lines of-therapy. iv) Follow up of these patients to predict their outcome. |
