Abstract
Our study includes 50 pat2ents of oblique inguinal hernia. The patients will be classified into two groups The first oroun includes 25 patients The oatients ranced in aue from 16 to 40 veers and all were males. The hernia was on the riqhr side in 24 catients and on the left side in one oetient. The Hernias were mostely medium in size and had not Previously been operated upon. Th25 group w 11 be operated upon by hen not omy with Jietion of the hernial sac and normalization of widened internal ring and plication of the fascia transversalis.
The second group includes 25 patients. The patients ranred in ee from 15 to 40 veers and all were maies.The hernia was on the right side in 24 patients and on the left side in one patient. The Hernias were mostly medium in size and had not previously been operated upon .This group will be operated upon by hernicromy With invagination cf the hernial sac stump into the general penitoneel cavity according to Shafik, (1980) and normalization cf the widened internal ring end r’lication of the fasc2a transversalis.
Follow uc of the two groups will be done for a percid of 6 to 12 months for detection of recurrence.
Each patient had been subjected to the following:
— Full clinical examination.
